I've had free-track working for about a month now, and I've used it on Wings Over Europe, IL-2 1946, and F4AF.  All three of those games shared the same profile (default) and everything worked fine.

I just got the helo sim Gunship!, and had to create a separate profile for it, since the sensitvities needed to be turned down, and the output has to be mapped to the mouse.  I creatd the new profile and played the game with free-track running.  I then closed the game, and dragged "Gunship!" from the default profile tree to my new profile.  Everything worked fine; when I open gunship, freetrack selects the new profile and uses that one.  If I then open wings over europe, free-track again selects the correct profile.

However, when I play IL-2, free-track always uses the Gunship! profile, even if I have the default one loaded.  I know you can kind of drag and drop games from profile to profile, but there is no IL-2 listed in the games under either the default or Gunship! profiles.

Can anyone help me ensure that IL-2 is always associated with the appropriate profile?

I hope I explained this well enough...  let me know if I need to clarify more.

It sounds like you've confused the IL2 game ID with Gunship, as far as I know Gunship does not have TrackIR support (which is why you're using mouse emulation) so it doesn't have an ID for autoloading purposes. For games without TrackIR support you need to manually load their profiles (no game association possible).

Use the Games.ini file to see the game ID association, make sure the IDs for Gunship and IL2 are different.

Hmm...  I can't find anything about IL-2 in the games.ini.  I'm not really sure what's going on.  Here is my games.ini:

[Games]
48091=Falcon4 AF
5118=Falcon4 OF&RV
62451=Aces High II
50146=Live for speed
29678=Condor soaring
13309=First Eagles WWI
22490=Janes FA18
16849=Orbiter
6096=Armed Assault
38885=rFactor
19441=EECH
21450=Future Pinball
21475=GPL
32505=Lock On
38138=netKar Pro

38906=Gunship!

1. Delete the Gunship line in the games.ini file.
2. Start gunship while FT is running.
3. Quit gunship and see if the 'Add game' button has become enabled in FT.
4. If it has then gunship has a TrackIR ID number so should support some form of head tracking natively. Click the 'Add game' button and give it a name
5. Do steps 1-4  with IL2.
6. Do the game ID numbers match?

That seems to have worked.  After running gunship, I was not able to use the Add Game button.  But I was able to use it after IL-2, so I added a new game 'IL-2'.  The games.ini now looks like this:

[Games]
48091=Falcon4 AF
5118=Falcon4 OF&RV
62451=Aces High II
50146=Live for speed
29678=Condor soaring
13309=First Eagles WWI
22490=Janes FA18
16849=Orbiter
6096=Armed Assault
38885=rFactor
19441=EECH
21450=Future Pinball
21475=GPL
32505=Lock On
38138=netKar Pro
38906=IL-2

I must have done something weird to get gunship to show up in the .ini the first time around.  Seems to work now.

Thanks!

Hi Kestrel,

Just one question. Is it possible to create new profiles ID for games who support TIR or it's fixed by Freetrack?

I'm not sure what you mean, the procedure in my Post #4 is used to add new game ids. The id numbers are a property of the game and cannot be changed. An id can only belong to a single profile at a time and new profiles can be created using 'Save as'. Remember the ids are only for autoloading.
