Hi all,
first I have to thank you for the great piece of software you wrote. I've build successfully a 3 IR-LED cap, which works great in the FreeTrack-Software. I could spend hours to move the Skull around, roll it, zoom it.. whee.. 6DOF are great. Now I'm trieng it to use it in FS2004. I've managed it to use the Joystick-emulation mode with PPjoy, but I'm hungry for my 6 Axes (I've seen on a fair TrackIR and the full movement possibility in FS2004). So I tried the FS2002/FS2004 Interface, which is used with FSUIPC.DLL (which is delivered with FT2.1) Does I need to register FSUIPC for using the Axis setting, or does the unregistred version support this? Or is that any other way to get the 6DOF in FS2004 (FS9) Cheers WeirdCulture |

The FSUIPC interface does not need to be registered but only allows for yaw, pitch, roll and zoom in FS2004. Full 6dof will be available in a later FT version.

Thanks for the fast anwser. How does this work?
Does I have to configure FS in some way? (I think so) I didn't found any documentation about this topic. |

Install FSUIPC by putting the FSUIPC.dll (v3.75) into the Modules directory of FS2004.
Tick the FS2002/FS2004 FSUIPC checkbox in the Output page of FreeTrack. Make sure you use the virtual cockpit. That's it! |

hmm.. tried it.. but it didn't work.
Does the order of the start of the programs matter? Start FT first, then FS? I've set the logging on the FSUIPC.DLL with IPC read/write and I got this interresting in the logfile: 629234 WRITE0 (failed, read-only!) 330A, 2 bytes: EC 03 629344 READ0 3304, 4 bytes: 02 00 00 00 629344 READ0 3308, 4 bytes: 02 00 00 00 629344 WRITE0 (failed, read-only!) 330A, 2 bytes: EC 03 629453 READ0 3304, 4 bytes: 02 00 00 00 629453 READ0 3308, 4 bytes: 02 00 00 00 629453 WRITE0 (failed, read-only!) 330A, 2 bytes: EC 03 Could be that the reason? ANd how to solve it? |

FreeTrack writes to 832E and 3110, your log indicates FS2004 + FSUIPC is not receiving this data.
FT must be started before FS. |

hmm strange.... so that means that the DLL doesn't get any information from FT. Is there any possibility to set FT to some kind of "verbose" oder "debug" mode?
Because I can't do more than set the "FS202/2004 FSUIPC" in FT. Or did I miss something? Could that be an OS Issue? I'm running W2K SP4. No "personal firewall" installed, or something else. Even deactivated the virusshield I found this thread: http://www.free-track.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=408, I've tried the debugging exe, is there a special point/Option which I schould take attention on it ? |

first I hoped for the VirtualCockpit thing does matter, but i set the Virtual Cockpit is loaded by default. It doesn't change anything, exept that my Flyghts starting now in a Virtual Cockpit.
after reading the threat i've checked the debugging option in FT again. When FS is not running , I see: FS_open: 2 FS_version: 0 FS_Process: 0 which seems to be ok, cause there is no FS started at this time. After starting FS I get following values. FS_open: 7 FS_version: 2 FS_Process: 0 This values doesn't change, even if I start a fly. tried it with windows mode to.. so I can see both screens at one time. The 0 at the FS_Process seems to be the problem. |

FS_open: 7 means you have an incorrect version of FSUIPC or non FSUIPC. FS_version: 2 means FS2000 detected, should be disregarded because FS_open failed. FS_process: 0 should be disregarded because FS_open failed. Make sure you have FSUIPC v3.75 correctly installed. |

hmm thats strange... I've copied the fsuipc.dll which is delivered by FT. This is the result. I've tried to uninstall FS9 and reinstall it clean, with no addonls etc... FT still doesn't work.
I got the menu Modules->FSUIPC.. but when I click on it, it start to moan about the registration. So it seems to load the fsuipc.dll, but that was the reason why I asked about registration of FSUIPC. You wrote 3.75 is needed by FT. I see that 3.75 is delivered by FT, so I take this. Are any futher steps needed to "activate" this dll or something else? How does FT recognize the FSUIPC.DLL?` |

It shouldn't be doing this, you might be able to find help in the FSUIPC forums. http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54
FT uses a 3rd party FSUIPC library that handles all of the details. |

So figured it out. you're right, was an fsuipc problem
On a Win2K system you have to import the certificate to fo the DLL, even when running in unregistred mode. (Use the Installer form the FSUIPC downloadpage, unzip it, and run "GlobalSign Root.exe" once) Thanks for help. now its time for fine adjustment. |
