Hey all,

I have been looking at making a modified webcam with IR led's to use with FreeTrack and a reflector cap but was wondering if I could using something like a cheap USB security camera?

Reason is that these camera's already have quite powerful IR LED's built in and I imagine they have no IR filters, so all I would then need is a cap with the reflectors.  Has anyone ever tried this?  Does anyone know if it would work?

I figure so long as windows can see it and it has sufficient fps and can focus short range it should be ok.  But not sure.

Hi,

yes there are some try for reflective builds. You need a good sensitive webcam for this.
