I have not found the suggested SFH 485p but I just found the OP168FA model that has a wavelenght of 934 and a view angle of 104 degrees model. As perhaps there are other considerations to take into account and that I know absolutely nothing about in electronics, I would like to present the details of this find to get your advices.

You can find the datasheet of this model led to the following url:

http://optekinc.com/datasheets/OP168F-169-268F-268FPS-269.PDF

At the same time, I included a link to a Canadian distributor for those looking where to obtain in quantity and reasonable prices these famous LEDs.

I am still waiting for your opinion before proceeding with the purchase of these LEDs. Thank you for your help and good day.

Because I thought that having a higher wavelenght and a larger viewing angle would give a better result. My reasoning may be wrong.

Another reason, a good one, is the fact that the minimum package size is 1,000 units.

...indeed, it's a good one.

As far as I can interpret the datasheet of both LEDs the sfh485 has a higher radiant intensity. It depends on your webcam sensibility if you really need it or not. Same for the wavelength. (which normally do not cause troubles if you remove the ir filter).
The OP268 had a similar wavelength to the sfh485 and lightly higher radiant intensity than the OP168 and 104° angle too. I would go for this one.

Tanks a lot Steph.

I made a mistake in my last reply. After verification, we can order SFH 485 per unit, which I did for10 x 0.365 $ CAN/ unit. I also ordered OP168FA for 4 x 1.19$ CAN and another led 10 x 0.388 $ CAN. So I will dispose 3 types of leds to make tests and choose the best result. Shipping cost is the most expensive : 8 $ by Fedex.

Have a nice day et tanks again for your help.

Your welcome.

It would be nice if we can get a short feedback about the other types, if you test them.
