Hi everyone,

I would like to remove the IR filter from a HP 2300 hd Webcam : http://store.hp.com/FranceStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=A5F64AA&opt=ABB&sel=ACC

But I don't know how to proceed.

May someone help me, please ?

Hi,

be aware, that in most case it's irreversible and you can't use it any more for normal utilisation.
Try to open the case and check if there is any lens or filter sheet between the camera lens and the sensor, if not, the ir-filter is coated on the lens and you can't remove it. If you remove the lens from the sensor your focus  is probably gone and it will be hard to adjust it again for any utilisation.
Do you tried it already without any modification or just a daylight filter?
Sometimes the in-build ir-filter is weak enough to use it like it is.

Hi,

thanks for your help.

The system works in fact yet. But I would like to improve.

Because I can get only 16 fps. That means that I don't have a a fluid movement in the game.

Without a better detection, I need to approach the webcam near the cap, almost 60 cm. And I need to do a very precise setup (exposure, threshold) to get 30 fps, and not lose the tracking when I turn my head.

I see,
up to you, if you want to open it.
Perhaps it works. Some even removed  coated filters with polish lotion.

I don't want to risk to damage my webcam. So the IR filter will stay where it is.

Thanks for your help.
