I tried a ps3-eye once but I ruined it, when I tried to remove the ir-filter.The only advice I can give you on this is, try to get it work without modifying.

I used some time a Wii remote, but I went back to my vx3000.The wii works with bluetooth and sometimes you get connection problems or your batteries run empty.
Because that I know that the ps3-eye can work with freetrack an win7 64bit, I will one day try it again.
The wii didn't give any improvement compared to my vx3000.So I will never use the wii  again for freetrack.
