Hi!
First of all thank you for making such an amazing software.
Seconly I use a Thrustmaster webcam (http://www.free-track.net/images/point_model_gallery/werner_01.jpg), I've seen a lot of people using the same camera and they seem to be satisfied. However I tried FT in Arma 3 and it is unfortunately very choppy and makes me nauseous. I have tried to increase the smoothing factor however that didin't do much.
From what I can gather on google I should turn autoexposure off in the camera options, but I am unable to do so as the camera options pages in FT are completely blank for me.
I had to install drivers for the thrustmaster webcam from their website and FT seems to be the only software that actually recognizes the webcam. Unfortunately I don't have a model for the webcam only the picture.
Can anyone reccomend what I should do? Are there any generic drivers that I could use with the webcam so that I could turn the autoexposure off?
I am looking forward to your response.

Edit: I am using the 3 point cap with IR LEDs

hi,
did you look here?
http://www.free-track.net/english/hardware/camera.php?PHPSESSID=9ef031912c21fcd5be1d259c67f1fa84

First of al, I don't think it is the most perfect webcam for freetrack.

Did you also look at the trust website for drivers?
http://www.trust.com/search/default.aspx?search=webcam&start=41&cxt=4
I started with a trust wb-1400 which looks a bit alike.I got it working, but I don't recommend it.

Isn't there any label on the wire of the webcam,?If you don't know the exact name/type of this webcam, you can use unknown indentifier to find out the name and manufacturer.
http://www.zhangduo.com/UnknownDeviceIdentifier.exe
Let it run and you see something like this,

After you found out what you wanted to know , you can uninstall unknown indentifier.
If you find and install the right driver maybe you can use windows-enabler to disable auto expoure and get a little better tracking.

Yeah I know this is not the best webcam for it, but it was lying around and it had an easily removable IR filter.
I ripped the label off of it when I was younger :(
The Unknown indentifier lists it as Thrustmaster USB device and only additional information that it gives out is: PnpID: VID_044&PID_B550
From what I gather windows enabler only makes the "greyed out" checkboxes clickable? If so the camera page in FT is completely blank for me http://i.imgur.com/b3Wy53R.png

Again thank you for your promt response :D

that it is completely blank is probably caused by an install which went wrong.
What I should do is, disconnect the webcam,  make a complete uninstall of you webcam.Clean up the registry with a tool like c-cleaner,
https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
If c-cleaner ask for making a back-up, just say yes.
Disable uac(=user account control)
https://skydrive.live.com/view.aspx?cid=B851496E0F7F23ED&resid=B851496E0F7F23ED%21139&app=Word&wdo=1
Restart your pc,

Don't connect the webcam yet, first Install the webcam drivers.Connect the webcam and I hope your problem is over with that empty field.
I don't know what OS you are using, but sometimes it helps to turn of that uac and install everything with admin rights. After installation you can turn uac back on if you want.

I did everything you said.. It seems that the drivers have now installed properly, however the webcam is so old and low quality that it doesn't support turning off autoexposure etc...
Form what I've read it would seem that the PS3 eyetoy is the best available camera for FT.
I'm considering buying it, however I have a few questions: 1. Is it easy to install drivers for it?
2. Is it's IR filter removed and if it isn't is it easily removeable?
3. do I have to apply a filter to block out visible light? (btw I can't find a floppy or undeveloped film lying around anywhere :( is there any other material that I could use?)

There are a lot of posts about the ps3-eye.
This is one of them:
http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=3541&page=1#19571
If you use the search funtion on this forum you can find more posts about the ps3-eye and decide if it is something for you.I have a fine working setup with a ms vx3000 webcam.Maybe the ps3-eye is better, but Iam satisfied with this.I tried once a ps3-eye  and it was no succes.
Just like I said before, use the search function and read what others experianced with the ps3-eye.
