Hello everyone,

I just opened my Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 and I don't see any IR filter.
Is it the red coating? I cannot remove this.

you can always try it first without modifying it.Maybe it has a weak ir-filter.

Hi,

you do not need to modify this cam, as it works well with the week inbuilt ir-block-filter.

Mine works fine with a good daylight-block filter.

Oh okay, if I knew that before I broke the IR filter and damaged the CCD chip.. :p
I bought a Microsoft VX-800 now and the IR filter is easily removed, and it works perfect now with a color print film attached before the webcam.

It's regrettable, because the 5000 Pro is a good cam.

But shit happens.  :stuart:
