From the FAQ:

My webcam doesn't remember exposure settings between video streams.

This is a known problem with many Logitech webcams, some new models use a standardized driver (UVC) which doesn't have this problem. Use the Force Exposure option in FreeTrack to automatically apply your desired exposure settings every time a video stream is started.

I'm having this exact problem, it works great when I open the camera settings and turn the exposure all the way down, but as soon as I start a fullscreen application it interrupts my webcam (light turns off for a second and comes back on) and it reverts back to auto-exposure. 2.2 doesn't seem to have the Force Exposure option, and 2.1 crashes on Win7 for me.

So I have a working headtracking system that I can only use with the freetrack test :(

If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate them, otherwise I guess I'll buy a PS3 Eye.

I don't have that file, maybe it's specific to logitech cameras? I'm using a basic Gigaware 1.3mp camera, I can't find any drivers for it anywhere (online and I seem to have lost the original disc) but it works with whatever generic webcam drivers Windows 7 has baked in.

I'm also having this problem, this is why I just now registered. I guess I'm not the only one?

I use a HP HD 2200

Wait, I may have a solution. Uninstalling the device through Device Manager and plugging the camera back in while Freetrack was on the whole time may have fixed my problem, I can now switch between apps without it resetting

Thanks for the tip RadPig, I'll give it a shot tomorrow and post my results. Just in case though, I found a PS3 Eye on eBay for $10...

Hmm, it worked for awhile, but when I needed to change some settings it fudged it all up again

Well I wasn't able to get the webcam to keep its settings after actually launching a game no matter what I tried.

I got a PS3 Eye though, but of course I'm having trouble with that too.
