Hi, I'm going to attempt a setup based on my wireless headphones (Sennheiser RS-120).

The idea is to directly leech power from the onboard batteries and still be cable-free when playing. Also these headphones are recharged easily by putting them on the recharging stand, I intend to keep that feature.

I'll update this post when I open up the headphones, but if you have any info, please share.

Nice idea.

NiMH batteries are 1.2V not 1.5V

I have a set built in a similar style, but based on the old headphones THOMSON WHP520. Power 2xAAA batteries internally. A set works about 5 hours (sound and LEDs). I have not tried to load from the battery charger supplied with the headphones because I fear burn LEDs :pirate:

I'm back, made some advances.

I measured the voltage on the battery terminals while charging and while not charging. Charging will rise the voltage by .1 or .2 V at most, so it won't burn my leds.

I soldered a connector to the battery terminals and glued it to the side of the headphones, the next step is to build the 3-point piece so that I can connect it or disconnect it at will.

I couldn't get a hold of those famous irleds so i'll just shave off some normal ir leds to improve the angle.
