I broke one camera.  bought another one.  removed the red glass, put in a floppy disk shader over the lens.

I have an LED strapped to my head.

I move the camera choice to the camera im using.

NOW WHAT?

Everytime I click start I get this window.

And when I cancel out of that the camera doesnt show anything.

Im confused.

Make sure your Source is Logitech Camera.
Set your stream to I420 352x288 format.
Set camera advanced to no Automatic Gain Control.
Adjust threshold until you get a beam from LED.

Are you using IR LEDs?
Try with a TV remote control to see if it detects properly.

In my win7 pc, when I launch free track and then click start, I get a logitech window that opens up that asks for logitech webcam properties and the free track window is red as the picture above shows and it asks me to shut down free track.

Check this thread;
http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=2197

For XP I had to change text to 96dpi to get it to work.
Make sure all settings are the same for  WIN7 as XP.

On my new laptop I use XPpro rather than WIN7 because most of my games and applications run flawless with XP. I never installed 7 even though I have it.

One option is a dual boot system!

It is called desperation!

I personally won't use WIN7 until Microsoft does not support XPpro any more.

I ordered my Dell as a business machine (VOSTRO 3700) with XPpro loaded.
There will be support for XP until 2014. Only because so many business companies
complained to Microsoft about having to upgrade their applications just because of a new operating system.

Other Dell laptops don't offer the XP "downgrade" hence the business laptop.

Good luck! At least you know how to properly modify the camera now!

Ok, its up and running on my pc.

Now I have a different problem.  My webcam has a mic.  and everytime I launch the free-track the mic on my TS becomes disabled.

Is there anyway to change that?

Ok SpecterM you tell us that nothing is working, but why don't u read the manual, and read what peoples said on this forum? Freetrack is working on XP, Vista, Win7 x32 and x64. Working with webcam @30fps and with Wiimote @100fps. Working with single point,  3 points cap or 3 points clip.
Freetrack is working with ArmaIIOA, DCS BlackShark, Lock-On Flaming Cliffs 2, X-Plane, Hawx, etc

Here is mine for 3 points cap,
