Hi, I don't get zoomin/out working with my 3p cap, what do I have to modify in the settings? is it a game profile issue or in-game issue?

Do you have the Modded version of the game, if not go to the AAA website and mod the game. then install the 6DOF mod from that website....

What mod do I need? My Il2-1946 appears to be modded (4.08v)

The question was : did you already apply a mod to your IL2 1946 ???
If your IL2 is straight-from-the-box, or just with somme patches, then its an unmodded version.
About this zoomin/zoomout :
If you have a stock IL2 version (unmodded/official) :
This version only allows 2DOF trackir emulation, even if your freetrack can do 6DOF
The trick is to send yaw and pitch by trackir interface , and Z (zoom) by keypresses interface, since IL2 allows to program 2 keys for zoomin/zoomout.
If you have a Modded IL2 :
There is no problem anymore , since your modded IL2 handles 6DOF.
So :
If your want to keep your official IL2 , look for the keypress zoomin/zoomout trick
If you already have a modded version of IL2, or want to upgrade to the modded version, then your zoomin/zoomout should work directly via the trackir interface.

Hi!
I have the 6DoF mod installed, and all the axes are working just fine. However when I move my head forwards to zoom in and then move my head back again the "pilot's head" doesn't move all the way back -- it gets stuck somewhere in the middle.  Does anyone have a solution to this? (I've tried both freetrack 2.2 and 2.1.2) |

I´m having the same problem.
I have installed the last ultrapack with all mods of All Aircraft site that comes with all 6dof mods... and nothing works. I just can look around. No Z movement.
I´m so disappointed like u... :o(

The common mistake is to think 6DOF works in all view modes in IL2.
Thats not the case. You get 6DOF only in cockpit view, not in gunsight view.
Try to switch view (default key : Shift F1) to see if it solves your issue.

Yeah man, I know... I´ve tried all possible views. Simply doenst work, like the others... it probally is the mod, or my bad install... who knows. It doesn´t import by the way. The game is working fine and why I´ll want to see inside my plane if the enemies are outside??? hehehhe
No problem. Thanx for this great software and wait for my Brasilian cap!! Coming soon...

Have you used the version switcher and set to 4.08m with 6DOF? If you hold the * key on the numpad does the option box come up when in cockpit?

I noticed if I move my head back too quickly the zoom will sometimes get stuck if using the change zoom views optoin in the 6dof mod. This appears to be a problem with the mod and not the software (TIR users report same problem). Just be mindful of moving your head back at a slower rate and there are no problems. |

Yeah it's right. I tried two ways to solve it:
1- downgrade definitely from vista 64 to windows XP 32.
2- install the AAA mod that include the switcher file and switch to version 4.08 6DOF;
This sequence now it´s working fine. Only the step 2 it doesn´t worked to me. Vista only gave me troubles with games and video edition. Vista never more!!!!!!!!!!!!
