Hi!

I'd very much like to have a infrared 3-point tracking system, but I'm not very tech-savvy and I don't have access to the necessary tools for making one myself. So I was wondering if anyone out there is in the business of making tracking systems and selling them? It doesn't have to look fancy or anything, as long as it's a "tested and confirmed" design that works well.

If anyone is interested, you can either post it in this thread if you're interested in "mass production" and selling to other people too, or you could PM me. I'd much appreciate it! :)

I live in Norway, though, but I don't think shipping should be a problem. I think we'll reach an agreement about the price. :)

Someone else also asked this yesterday, Kestrel(The freetrack head developer) used to make these, but we haven't heard about them since.

If I find at least 3 people that want em, I'll go out and get some materials to make some kits,
if I do, I'm planning on selin em for $8 parts, and $10 assembled, plus shipping, which, from Canada, is really freakin expensive, somewhere around $10 across the country, not sure about other places though, and the online calculator refuses to tell pricing for such a small package.

User Empf used to sell kits. I bought my first 4 point from him, readymade, then bought the bits to make my current 3 point from him, but he's not logged onto the forums since September last year and hasn't answered emails or messages.
He was from Finland, if I remember correctly.

I can make a one for you, but I have no references with anyone. So, you would be making a bit of a risk doing business with me. But if you want me to build a kit for you, I need these questions answered:

1. What kind of power supply do you want for the hat?
Batteries or wall outlet? I will not make a usb supplied setup. Also, your location is key for the wall outlet, I live in the U.S., so I made mine operate off of a 115 volt outlet.

I make the leds and wiring all rigged up inside the fabric of a ball cap, all that protrudes is the leds.

2. Do you have a preference of ball cap? Will I be able to find your preference in a place like oh, say, Chattanooga, Tennessee? (I probably can't get your fav. cricket team here, lol. )

3. Will you be supplying your own camera? If not, is there one you prefer?

If you can answer those, I can make you a rig. Also, you will still have to setup up the software, so I will probably give you some pointers on the camera setup (brightness, gain, esposure, etc.) that works optimally when i test this rig.

Ah, I didn't see that other thread. :/ Maybe a moderator wants to merge them. I did a search before making this thread, but apparently I didn't search for the correct three-word combo. ;)

marcusw and lilpunk1302, you have PMs. :) If others are interested too, maybe you can sign up in this thread, and we'll see what comes out of it.

I have posted some pics in the Share pics thread

http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=466&page=2#5571

there,

So far I've only done the 3 point clip models, but could attempt a cap model.

If you want, I could sell you the one I have already, only thing is it's powered by an old motorola phone charger which runs on 110 forks(North american) but it's based on USB, so I can splice in a USB plug for you.(Either way, I wanna keep my charger)

I don't have a problem with selling it, as I currently have no use for it(Don't play flight sims much anymore)

If anyone wants to buy my current one, PM me, I might auction it off if needed,

the Canada Post site seems really confusing, but from what I can gather, it'll cost upto $20 to ship it depending on "Zones"(gotta go to a post office to figure out a real rate)

If I make more for other's they'll look basically the same, but IR if requested(a pack of 5 standard red LED's costs $1.50, a single IR LED costs $1.60.)

Guys  i would like to share this link.
I have sold some thing like 30 trackers around Italy and it works Fine for me.
The price match with the led  and laser cutted part.
Bended plastic pipes and tasker wire used to fit in the Usb hac.
THe tracker can twist over two axis and tested with VX3000 and Logitech cam.Still available some pieces.
Ciao
