When I was removing IR filter, and I tried to diconnect these two glued aluminium parts, whole content one of them fall to pieces and I don't know how to reassemble them. I tried to do this in different ways, but everytime when I connect it to PC the video was in terrible quality I have parts like in the picture and there you can see a simple schemes of them. Maybe someone can help me.... PS. Sorry for my english |

I'm looking at lens of my labtec webcam now, and there seems to be some similarity.
I'd say that number 1 and 5 are top and bottom lens. Number 1 probably goes into the big tube (0), with its flat side facing side B. It's "dome" should fit tightly into the hole in the tube (the one going trough to side B), and number 5 goes into the closing cap (2) with its flat side top (so that its "dome" fits into the smaller hole in the cap). Numbers 3 and 4 go between them. From what i see from the photo, part 3 is just a spacer - an empty plastic tube. And part 4 seems to have a small flat rim around its dome, so the spacer should fit over the dome part of the lens. Par4 4's dome (and therefore number part 3) will probably face side A of main casing. (but you might want to try the other way around if it doesn't work). So the assembly would be: put part 2 on the table with its smaller hole facing down, insert part5 inside, with its convex side facing down. Then put part 4 on it, so that their flat sides are facing each other, and part 4's dome is facing top. Put part 3 over part 4, cover it all with part 1, and put part 0 with side A facing up over it and press down firmly, making sure that lens can't move around inside. Just make sure that all lens are 100% clean before assembly - clean them thoroughly with soft cloth and don't touch them with fingers - use tweezers instead. Also, if the assembled lens are screwed into the casing in order to adjust focus, make sure you screw them all the way in, watching video output all the time. In my labtec i had to screw them in really hard to get proper focus. Hope it helps. If not, we'll have to wait for someone with a4tech webcam to pass by. |
