Hi

First time poster and hopeful builder needing some help.  I followed this very useful tutorial video to mod an old Twinklecam 2110A i had laying around, and got as far as testing it with a basic remote control.  The problem is that it is only showing as getting 9fps.  According to the webcam spec, it is capable of 30fps, and i have double-checked that 'auto exposure' is not enabled, and also set compression to 1420 mode.  Any ideas appreciated.

thanks
joe

Don't worry, it's a bug with the current version.

hi

updated to the latest version 2.2.0.279 and it still does the same thing.  Though very briefly, the first time i clicked on 'start', it went to 25fps, then dropped back to 9, and has remained at that since.  I could take some screen grabs of my webcam software settings if that would help?.

I don't really know what to suggest... Read the Harware FAQ if it's not done.

Think i've found what the problem is.  I took the filter off the front and flooded the lens with light, making the fps reach 29.  Looks like the auto-exposure must be on, but there doesent appear to be anywhere in the software driver to disable it.  :(

Hi

Tried the latest drives off the chicony website, but still no option for auto exposure.  There is an option for 'backlight compensation' which might have been the same thing, but that is disabled anyway, so i think i;m out of ideas.  Its looking like i'll have to buy a new Microsoft VX1000 instead (fairly low cost at my local argos store)

thanks for the assistance didja
