I am having the exact same problem with the same setup (Win7 64-bit -- i7).
The dpi-fix didn't work, either.

EDIT: I have the PS3 EyeToy Cam

Any suggestions?

It is a problem of hell. I don't think there is one solution. Also if you have modified the windows theme settings might cause a crash. Everything should work at the default dpi setting though.

EDIT: Yesterday, I found the time to try getting it to work, but everything I did, failed.

I am no expert at this so this as far as I can get, but the point at which the errors we are seeing the in violation message is the following.

Through years I was getting Access violation error for different reasons, but each time it would've been dealt with easily.

The most annoying one relates to "Make text larger" option, ie. DPI scaling. I was really hoping that this particular problem would have been solved through software itself.

With any different DPI setting (usually larger text) Freetrack would produce Access violation error on application start up, and there would be no chance of running it. This is regular with both Windows XP and Windows 7 (code 0001A259).

Wanting to lessen strain on my eyes, I found out that old workaround can also be used in Windows 7. More tricky to find, but it's still there. You can change size of everything without changing DPI setting in Windows 7, just like you could in Windows 98, for example.

Left click at empty desktop surface.
In context menu select Personalize.
At the bottom of the dialog box, click at the option Windows Color.
In the next dialog box, click at the option Advanced appearance settings...
Window Color and Appearance dialog box will open.
Manually change object sizes, font sizes, colors, etc. to your liking. You have preview window above.

Or
Click at the Start button.
Click at Control Panel.
Click at Display.
Click at Personalization.
Click at Window Color.
Click at Advanced appearance settings...
In Window Color and Appearance dialog box manually change object sizes, font sizes, colors, etc. to your liking.

For the safe side, note default values so you can revert to them. With settings changed this way, Freetrack works great.
