Alright, I'll have a look into those programs.
And yeah since I have a dual core CPU. It is a multicore problem. Berk |

hey,
back again well i "wrote" a little command line script, which runs freetrack with normal priority on only one core. havent tried if that solves the problem with 2.2.079, but here's how you have an easy affinity-commandline-utility. 1. Download a program called "process.exe" from here : http://www.beyondlogic.org/solutions/processutil/processutil.htm (scroll to the bottom) 2. Copy the file in the archive to your \windows\system32 folder. 3. go to your freetrack folder and create a new textfile. 4. edit the textfile with the following : start freetrack.exe 5. save the textfile and give it a name like "freetrack1core.cmd" or whatever you like. must be .cmd anyway ! 6. after that you can create a shortcut to that cmd file anywhere you like, for example on the desktop. 7. launch freetrack with that shortcut and enjoy. ps. if you want to run freetrack on 2 cores again, change the "01" to "11". you can surely create multiple command line scripts for running with different settings |

ok !
THANKS FOR THE TIP. That completely solved my problems with FT 2.2 and FSX !!! Maybe that workaround should be made sticky somewhere ! |

Well for me setting FT work on only one core doesn't solve it. What the trick is to set the priority to Realtime.
Anyways hope this helped out many other people who had the same problem with multi cores. Berk

if you wanna set priority to realtime, change the line
process -p freetrack.exe normal to process -p freetrack.exe realtime just read the linked website of the process-tool for more info about it's usage, it's not too hard to unterstand |

hi,
i play dcs: black shark which is also not made for more cores. i have the same problem as above. when i put freetrack.exe on core 0 (realtime is on) it runs smooth when on ground, but when i take off it tracks with delays and jumps. |

sorry, you are wrong, because DCS BlackShark works like a charm with more cores - if you know how to do it - and at least in windows vista and windows 7 beta.
for more info read here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37249&highlight=vista |

yes you are right, in vista and w7, you will take atvantage of more cores.
But, it is not dcs that take the advantage, but windows. dcs runs ONLY one one core (it has been designed for one core). and here a quote from the link you send me: "Changing the affinity of the DCS.exe process in Windows Vista (with the scripts uploaded in another thread and also attached in this thread) the performance (frames per second) increases. The reason for this isn't because it allows the game to use all of the Cores, since it is only one thread and therefore can only use the processing power of one core at the most. Instead it allows TrackIR/Sound and other background tasks to run on a separate part of the CPU, separating the game from the other tasks that isn't in the game." |

I am using Windows Vista 32 bit, without the Sim Connect checked, in Free Track it works smooth.. When I check the Sim connect I got a like a stutter each second.
using the meantioned tweaks (priority high / only on 1 core) for freetrack.exe doenst solve my problems. When I uncheck the sim connect free track runs smooth. Any other suggestions ? |

Duno if it will help in your case but I found that LOWERING the camera and FreeTrack fps and multiplier made head movements MUCH more responsive.
Camera set to 5fps FreeTrack 5fps 1 multiplier You may need to increase smoothing a bit.

This might be too simple, but make sure your camera is focused on the LED's. I had a problem sim. to yours and all it was is the focuses was off.
