Yes,
I flattened my LED's. Its ok for now though, I'm building the 3 point hat version. If that works good then I won't worry about the clip for a while. I'd eventually like to have both versions though. |

Well, the hat works ok. for the most part anyway.
The only major issue to contend with now is this frame rate. .. |

Sorry to have hijacked your thread vranac. I've created my own to keep yours free of my issues.
cheers, Newo |

You don't have to apologize ,I think we have same problem here.
i'll try another driver today, but old drivers won't uninstall so I think to rename the files. |

I found some information after alot of digging in this thread:
http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=322 One thing that stuck out was the USB bandwidth. That, and the auto exposure are the 2 things I can't seem to get to work the way they should. Though theres a possibility the AE is actually working but due to the USB bandwidth I'm not seeing a change. When ever I try to move the USB Bandwidth slider, it moves back down to 2. Sometimes it sits on 3, but then just moves back to 2. Any ideas? |

Alright,
I've found some VERY relevent information here. I found this program here: http://www.usbinfo20.com/download.asp its called USB Info. Basically it tells you information about any devices you have connected. From what I've descovered. My laptop has 2 USB controllers, one for USB 1.1 and one for USB 2.0 All the USB plugs on the back of my laptop are connected to the usb 1.1 controller. my built in webcam is connected to the USB 2.0 controller but I have no plugs on my laptop that allow me to utilize this!!! So, my webcam is using USB 1.1 which is also shared with my Razer mouse, and my x52 Pro. So that seems the most likely cause for such a low frame-rate. There just isn't enough bandwidth. I'll post more info tomorrow, but for now I need to sleep... work in 6 hours 0.o |

Nice detective work Newo. Have you tried checking the actual USB bandwidth?
-> Device Manager -> View Devices by Connection -> Click through until you find the PCI Bus -> expand all the Host Controllers so you can find the one your webcam is attached to -> Right click -> Properties on the Host Controller -> Advanced tab -> Bandwidth used |

It seems I was correct in my findings, the USB 2.0 ports aren't accessable (which is stupid!!!).
I'm currently using 4 of my available ports, One for my Razer Mouse One for the webcam One for M-Audio JamLab (Normally I wouldn't need this plugged in all the time, however I got up too quickly and walked away from my computer one time with my headphones plugged in and bent the insides of my speaker output, so I now use this nifty little device as a speaker output permanently.) When I look at the bandwidth, even though I have 3 devices plugged in (all of which are in use while I check) Only 3 items are showing: 15% system reserved 30% Composite Device (I believe this one is the webcam because when I turn off freetrack it goes away) 47% Composite Device (Could be either the JamLab or my Razer Mouse, but I'd say my mouse since its quite high end and would logically use that much of the bandwidth easily) So even with just those (not even plugged in my x52 Pro Joystick yet), I've almost already maxed out my host controller. I must find out why the hell I have USB 2.0 but I can't access it because the stupid manufacturer decided not to have the port connections. [Edit] It looks like the 47% must be JamLab as I just un-plugged my razer mouse and its still there. So the bandwidth for my Razer Mouse isn't showing, I must investigate this more... [/Edit]

I'm glad that you find out the reason for low fps, but there is still the
problem with AE.We have similar driver version , i tried one bit older, same thing. vx1000 owners who realy disabled AE please post your driver version. Thank you tankbuster ) but your version 10.xx.xx.xxx I can't find. All drivers i saw begins with 5.xx.xx.xx |

I'm starting to think that the FPS is not related to the auto exposure.
I think the auto exposure is being dissabled from enable button correctly, however because my USB bandwidth is too low no noticable difference is seen. I don't know about your situation, but I believe thats how mine is. I can't move the USB Bandwidth slider because it returns back to 2, sometimes 3. And I still can't figure out why my laptop says in the device manager that its USB 2.0, and has 2 host controllers however I can't access any of the 2.0 ports. Any help in that area is most appreciated. |

Only solution to your usb problem is to open laptop end try to connect webcam to usb 2.0 , maybe instead cam that goes with it.
I don't have fps problems but I can't disable AE. It looks disabled ,I manage to low down exposure to 8, box for AE is unchecked , but occasionally or on restart of freetrack, driver force it to 24 like you said:
that is noticable, tracking begin to stutter , and you can check by clicking camera button in freetrack ,exposure slider is on 24. If you manage to solve your usb problem, you'll bump on this one I think. BTW if the warranty for the laptop is exeeded ,open it . I would just replace camera. |

After all this views on this thread and 3 driver versions changed , I realy doubt that anyone realy disabled AE on this webcam .

I can say, that I also suffered from constant 20fps with this cam. I loaded new chipset drivers (which included the usb 2.0 drivers) for my motherboard and got that magical 30fps right away. So propably if you're not using usb 2.0 ports (and be sure that they are actually using usb 2.0), you're not gonna get that 30fps.
Haven't really seen any real difference if using different exposure times. Few times I have suffered from freaky jitter, but tweaking treshold has cleared the problem. |

How to reduce "Jiter"
The web-cam gives out stable 30 fps,but "Jitter"=20-30 |

click on the camera button and look on which value exposure is.
I bet it's on 24 at least. or check do you catch only leds and your leds must be small dots, cross have to be steady on them not stuttering.(gain slider might help) |
