Thanks for your posted fix Hendrik, this problem seems very strange.

If you do not start the programs in the correct order do you get the exact same error as we are having? The error is: "Access violation at address 00402272 in module Freetrack.exe.Write of address 4029B311"

I don't have a copy of FS9 so I can't try this myself unfortunately. Can anyone else verify this?

Cheers,
Toby

I´m sorry. I changed many details in grafikcard-settings and I cant reproduce the error now. But sometimes I get a error (I will write down the exact number) when starting but FT works anyway.

Thanks Hendrik. If you could write down the error code next time it happens and let us know that would be very helpful!

Best,
Toby

Download and install directx 9c, the latest version has the .dll free-track is asking for... even if your on Vista with directx 10 the latest .dlls aren't present and installing the latest version of directx 9c will add the files needed and you will still be directx 10. Adding a dynamic link library (.dll) file to your system32 folder that is both unregistered and lacks the directx files that the .dll links too is causing your errors.

Download and install lastest DirectX 9c here.

This issue is not caused by the missing dll.

We've already tried the november dx9 updates, as well as manually adding the missing dll to various folders etc. I just tried again anyway using your link but again it had no effect.

I bet if I complained about a toothache on this forum the first post would be "you are missing a dll update dx9 here:".

Your issue sounds like the maybe reinstall Windows issue MrRockerShooz if Free Track is that important to you but Alan has the same issue as I did wich I resolved from info on this thread so I was just reporting my success and hoped to give more info. Gonna quote ya here alcav55...

D3dx9_33.dll is in fact in the Free-track folder.I did try re-installing but with the same result.

D3D3dx9_33.dll is not in my Free Track folder but this one is  D3DX92ab.dll

Oh good luck MrRocketShooz and I have a toothache by the way :(... any advice...?

We're at cross purposes here mate. The issue you're talking about was resolved on the first page in the way you describe so you're right there. This issue is the missing DLL issue that Alan originally started the post about.

However in Alan's case, fixing this issue gave rise to a new issue, namely the access violation error described in subsequent posts. If you read the posts through you'll see Alan still has this issue. This is the issue others including myself have, and is not fixed by the missing DLL.

It is the access violation issue we are now discussing since the missing DLL issue has already been resolved.

Reinstalling Windows is hardly a practical solution, though it is possible it would help (somebody with a spare drive was going to try it, haven't heard back yet). For the moment I'm using 2.1 but doing my best to contribute to a solution for the access violation issue in 2.2.

Hi

you are correct MrRockerShooz,I do still have the problem,I tried everything that was suggested to no avail :( .

As vers,2.1 is working better  with an added film negative type filter,I have decided to wait for a patch,if one comes along. :)

Merry Xmas everyone.......Alan
