With the wiimote compatible coming in the next release. I have some ideas to use with it, but I need real numbers  on the users before I start.

Thank you
Marcus

I ain't got a wii, so would be kinda useless to buy one just for free-track wouldn't it ? :P

I could buy a wii just for the fun of it ofc

Lol, thats what I did. But I bought it used, so it wasn't any more than $20.00. It looks like someone's dog chewed on it, but does the job. ;)

It will connect via bluetooth, requires no modification, gets 100 fps, and uses virtually no cpu. Thats how it works. ;)

Stupid question, you don't need the wii that goes with those remotes do you ?
And is there an option to connect through usb?

Yeah, you just need the Wiimote and you can buy it without the Wii ^^ .
About using USB, you can buy one USB dongle bluetooth adapter.

Hi Marcus,
I bought the wii controler especially for FreeTrack. Ok, I have also checked out, if the whiteboard solution works (it works fine by the way), but the main reason was the upcoming wii support in FreeTrack 2.2.
Now I am waiting for the release (didja told me, it takes only "weeks"). I have built the cap and tested it with a simple wii remote test program (Wii Remote Lib for .net by Brian Peek). The connection of the remote with the pc is done with a simple bluetooth adapter. It was easy to accomplish.

I hope, that FreeTrack will work with my "setup".

Bye, Willy.

I will be doing the same. Getting a Wiimote just for freetrack.

Will be getting my self a webcam (vx1000) this weekend to get my first set done and to learn howto.

But as soon as support comes out for the wiimote im there =)
100fps and close to no cpu at all... sounds to good to miss.

will the wii remote work for a LED setup only, or will it use the reflective mode as well, like track IR ?, will definatly buy the remote either way, as i have a track IR 4 reflective cap device already.
my origanal track ir died after only 3 months use, so i am very reluctant to perchase another one. cant wait for the 2.2 release and the wii implimentation, i really miss the 6dof aspect in the sim.
