I intend to make a single pint model attached either to a pen or glove which then would control the mouse.  Eventually I intend to turn this into a multi "touch" system using gloves (minority report style)  but that's a problem i'll deal with later (not even necessarily using freetrack).  However my question is could the single point system be used as a mousemanipulator to move the mouse around the XY plane on the monitor for things other than games (general computer use) although perhaps used in games depending on how well it works.  Anyway is this a feasible use?  Or do I need to find a different software solution?  I know trackIR allows this although I came up with the idea and design solutions for everything except software before I even heard of freetrack or trackir.  Indeed the software search led me to both.  Anyway could it be used for general mouse manipulation?

FreeTrack has built-in options for producing relative and absolute mouse emulation output.

alright i did some more looking on the forums and found some similar questions but never a straight answer.  So here I'll clarify my question and hopefully someone can answer it.  I want to use the LED tracking as more of a click.  if the tracking is on it clicks and if it is off it is not clicking.  so to drag a window for example you'd point the led at the top of the window turn it on and hold it on.  drag the window where you want and turn of the led then the window will stop dragging.  I intended to take a laser pen and add an IR LED to it. the laser tracks where you're pointing without clicking or anything and then use the IR LED as a mouse click.

FreeTrack doesn't do any click emulation but you can use free dwell-click software that automatically clicks when the mouse is stationary for a short time.
