Hello!

Can someone tell me where the IR filter is on this webcam? I'm posting some pictures below.

Off line Www

my best guess is, that it is in the lens part you have skrewed off.

problery a tiny piece of pale blueish tint.
OR, looking closer on your pictures, it might be coated on the lenses. the look Redish dont they.
support FREETRACK developers, the do it FREE for you -HELP them/yourself help others.
-another fun DIY thing to do, works with Free-Track too, HAVE A LOOK

I reckon the IR filter is the red tint seen in the second picture. It looks like it might be a coating rather than a traditional filter.
If I'm right, then it's likely impossible to remove it.

that kinda looked like my lens setup on my webcam, besides what looks like a possible plastic cap.  is there any seam that makes it look like that piece can be removed?

i ended up breaking the lens in my webcam...  which is no big deal, it couldn't do 30fps anyways... but it would of been neat to make an IR web cam for night seeing... :-)

Thanks for the answers!

So if it is on the lens part cant i just take a screwdriver and broke it? If i accidentally brakes the lens too will it work anyway?

If you want the webcam to work, you're better off not breaking anything, especially not the lenses.  ;)

Much like many other webcams, your webcam appears to have a black plastic ring on the back of the lens housing which you should be able to prise off with a sharp object (it's normally glued in place). Once this is off all the insides should drop out including the infrared filter.

Woho! :D Thanks alot for the help. I have been reading all guides about removing the IR filter and i have spent hours in the forum. But now i finally has removed it :D

But now to the next problem... when i run the software the cam still reacts on the light in my room. Any idea what that depends on?
