I just installed Freetrack ver2.1.2.264 and it works? I tried re-installing ver 2.2 and crashes immediately when trying to start the program.

Hi,
did you install and run it with admin rights? |

Yes, admin rights, it installs fine but when I try to launch the program it give the above error and then another window pops up with, "Exception Access Violation in module freetrack.exe at 00019779. Read address 40239CA6".
I've run uninstall then scanned and cleaned registry multiple times and re-downloaded and installed multiple times. As I said above I have it working on another Windows 7 machine. I tried with a camera plugged in and as you know the program runs with or without a camera plugged in. I don't have the program launch at all. I have a solid state hard drive as my C: drive and I tried installing it there and also on my D: drive, but that shouldn't matter. |

Hi
freetrack can only work with win7 if the dpi is set to smaller(100%) instead of normal(125%).Just check what dpi seting you have, maybe that'syou problem. https://www.lawfirmsoftware.com/support/change_dpi_settings_windows_7.htm

That was it, my setting was medium sized fonts. I was seeing other posts about access violations and DPI settings and was trying those but Stormrider your post did it, I know this is free software but wouldn't that be easy to fix? Seems like it's been posted on since 2009? Damn those fonts are small now at 1920 by 1200.... now I have to go back to hacking the IR filter in my creative VF-0050

there is also something like "facetrack-noir"with pointracker plug-in.
It works the same as freetrack, but with less options. For this one you don't have to change the dpi-setting and that is one of the reasons why I started to use that. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm |

Hi
Comes up with a windows error box saying FreeTrack.exe has stopped working A problem caused the programe to stop working correctly. Windows will the program and notify you if a solution is available There is a clickable box with one option to Close Program My notebook specs: Ausus Republic Of Gamers Notebook Model G74S Intel i7-2670QM CPU @2.20GHz RAM 16GB 64 bit Win 7 Home Premium SP1 Video nVidia GeForce 560M GTX 2GB The version of Free Track I have is 2.1 The demo works OK it is when I try to select my inbuilt notebooks webcam which shows as Asus default or Asus usb selecting either causes the above problem. I just connected a Logitech Webcam 200 and it actualy worked although the display was all discoloured bit like a negative film, but the whole program simply dissapeared like it was closed but attempting to restart gives a windows error box saying "Another instance is running. Terminating" After closing the box and try to start it again the same box shows and I have to restart the computer to actually get it to start again. Just a thought but is this a 32bit only program? as I have 64bit OP Regards Allan

Hi again,
I uninstalled version Freetrack: 2.1.2.264 and installed Freetrack: 2.2.0.279 and all seems to be OK. Freetrack: 2.2.0.279 Filter 1.5.3.0 client 1.0.0.266 NPClient 1.5.0.267 Unchecking Auto Minimize fixed the shutting off of the program. Dugh!!! Thought I'd post this so as to help anyone else who may have the same problems. I guess now is a good time to actually read the manual. Regards Allan |

It is advised to minimize freetrack when you start gaming to minimise the resources it use for tracking. So it can be useful to let be auto minimized. This software is from 2009(long time ago), maybe you don't need it anymore because of computers are much faster and have more ram these days.
and search this forum, there is a lot to read.
