Hello everyone! Just wanted to say I have been using Freetrack for a long time and really enjoying it. I use it almost exclusively with FSX via SimConnect, and it makes getting around the cockpit so much easier for me. I had originally thought of acquiring TrackIR but figured I would try to throw together a 3-point cap since it is so much cheaper and I had heard good things. It has served me faithfully (and saved me money) for a long time, and I appreciate all the hard work that was put into it!

Anyways, I am rambling.

As I said I have used Freetrack for an extensive amount of time within FSX, and it had always worked fine save a single error. It would crash when I pointed it at my PS Eye Toy camera. I resolved this issue however by pointing it at ManyCam instead whilst running the camera through ManyCam and it has been fine.

Recently however I decided I wanted to make an attempt at running it remotely. I am trying to throw as many of my FSX addons as I can onto my second PC in order to lighten the load on the main one (which FSX runs on). I downloaded the latest FreeTrack and gave another go at pointing it to the camera. It crashed as it had on my main, and so I used my previous work around. The SimConnect stuff seems to be working well as I can hop into FSX and headtrack. However, the program is exceptionally laggy and stutters. This is not only with the headtracking but also with the UI. Adjusting sliders and curves and all that is nearly impossible with the way it runs. Worst case scenario I can always go back to my main PC for headtracking, but I wanted to see if anybody here had any ideas. I am running Win 7 64 bit and below is my dxdiag (for the PC FreeTrack is running on). I can confirm that the camera is working fine, and the computer is not capping out on RAM or CPU power by a long shot. Anyways, I am clueless! Hope someone has some helpful advice, and thanks in advance folks.

Upon further investigation I have found this lagging of the UI (and presumably the headtracking too) only occurs when SimConnect is checked. Perhaps this is an issue with running it remotely? Again, let me know if anybody has any ideas but it looks like I will be throwing it back on the main computer for the time being.

I got the same problem on an older pc config and downgraded on freetrack 2.1 which works fine.

I will fiddle with it some more/downgrade and see what happens. Will report back soon, and thanks!
