I am using a Trackclip Pro and my model position and dimensions are entered correctly. It usually works well but sometimes when I look down and to the left the top LED and the middle LED will blend together and Freetrack loses one of the LEDs. Sometimes if I fiddle with the clip on my headset and reposition it the problem will go away but not always. Are there any settings to prevent this?

Hi nealius,
at what distance are you sitting from your webcam? How far do have to move your head to turn your view in yourgame 180 degrees? If sitting to far away, your dots wil be close together also. But maybe you must only change some settings in freetrack so you don't have to move your head so far up or down.Go to the profile tab and increase sensitivity for all axes( around 1,5 to start)If sensitivity already is set to 1.5 or higher check the normal view of your webcam.Maybe you need to zoom in to make your image biggerand create bigger distance between your leds.I see you have red dots, you don't use Ir-leds? greetz Stormrider |

I am sitting about 36 inches away from the webcamera. It is not possible for me to get any closer.
I am using IR LEDs, with two layers of exposed, developed film on my webcamera as a filter. This problem with LED blending seems to be fairly recent, as I did not have this problem 3 weeks ago. Looking up and down is fine. Looking left and right is fine. Look down and to the right works fine. Only looking down and to the left has problems. I only have to move my head about 20 degrees to get 180 degrees of movement. |

Hi nealius,
is it possible that the position changed from your clip on your headphone??Check the model position on the model tab.On the cam tab you can change the size of the dots(point size). If the dots are smaller then the minimum, it discriminates them and if they are bigger then the max also. You can imagine that if you turn your head the size of the dots can change.Try this with a flaslight and you will understand what I mean. Looking left down is a problem, maybe you can try with you cam mounted a bit more to the left. What cam do you use by the way?And what is the position of the webcam? If it is looking down on you to much you get also that problem.I tried it myself. If I make the webcam looking down to my setup I get the same problem( upper and middle led melt together). Normally I use a capmodel and my webcam is almost on the same level as my webcam.I think that's the best position. greetz Stormrider |

I am using a Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000, mounted just left of center on my monitor. It used to be further left however when I leaned in and shifted my head to the right I would go off-camera. It is almost level with my model, pointed slightly downward. I cannot lower it due to my 19" monitor.
What should my point size be? It is currently 5 pixels minimum, 30 pixels maximum. |

Hi nealius,
I don't think you need to change the dot size, but place your webcam on the left site under your monitor as apossible solution. The melting of the dots is not a problem of the software but it is caused by the position of your webcam and your model. I think that when you center freetrack your model and webcam must be in a straight line. I is not realy a problem that your cam is looking down if you let your model also look a bit up.But first try if it helps to put your cam under your monitor. greetz Stormrider |

I will try moving the clip model up towards the camera first. My desk is so messy I don't think I can fit my webcam down there
