Hi there,
a friend of mine has made the hardware to use freetrack. We have installed all the necessary software, but after started the game (Falcon BMS) I have got a bad delusion: the fps was really bad (7 fps/sec.) Really ugly! I don't known what I can do to improve it, but that is. My pc is very dated and it work well, this is my configuration: Mobo: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe CPU: DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2000 MHz MEMORY: Team Group XTREEM 2GB-PC-3200 2.0-3-3-5 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) 1 HD: WDC WD5003ABYX-01WERA1 (465 GB) (**) 1 HD: HDS722516VLAT80 (153 GB) 1 HD: IC35L080AVVA07-0 (76 GB) Joystick: Sidewinder OS: Windows Xp Sp3 in the HD (**) Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 2Gb DDR3 Monitor: LG IPS224 Normally without freetrack and at full resolution I get 30 fps/sec that's enough for what I have to do and there are no significant improvement if I reduce it. I have tried to change some graphic performance without results. Are here anybody that can give a suggestion to increase the fps? Tahnk a lot

What is your webcam?
You got bad frames for Falcon or bad frame-rate for the cam in Freetrack? Check the processor-performance when launching Freetrack. You have to minimize Freetrack before switching to the game. |

My Cam is Microsoft VX-3000 and I get low framrate in Falcon Bms. In Freetrack framerates are about 20.
How about processor-performance? Could I reserve some resources to Freetrack? |

Hi Teopd,
your pc runs on a 32bit operating system, this means that the max memory you can use is 4GB. Your graphiccard has 2GB and you have 2GB ram. This is the max for your operation system. If you play your game and you start to hear your harddisk very often. This means most of the time that you have run out of memory and he start to write down to you HD temporary. This also give you a performance lost, stuttering ect. First you need to determen what is you problem, your cpu or not enough useable memory due to 32bit win xp 32bit limtations. You can change the priority of freetrack and you can asign a core of your cpu to the game and the other core to freetrack.Call-up taskmanager--goto processes--select freetrack--select choose priority and change it to a higher level(higher than normal or realtime). You can do the same for TrackIr.exe If you make the priority to hight your computer will hang.If you succeeded to change the priority, under priority you see affinity setting(or something like that) With affinty you can choose which core of your cpu handles the game or other software. And close all applications you don't. Maybe you can try your game with freetrack running but with tracking paused.Just for testing.Your webcam should be able to reach 30fps.I know, because I use the same one. Did you turn off auto exposure? these are my settings for the cam greets Stormrider

Thank for your suggestions Stormrider, I will try to make as you have written.
I think the problem is due to the memory, but before I have to try what is best and what is not. |

Try to reduce the cam resolution.

Thank for these suggestions, but I am gaming with it with any difficult, but if you want to play at the maximum resolution and all issues checked you need to do as expose. The problem, I think, is about the work that my cpu unit have to do with. |
