Hi, Stormrider, well I finely got the comp. rebuilt. But now I cant get the freetrack to work. I re downloaded it but when setting it up in stream I cant the RGB 24 to change. Output size will go to 640x480 ok. In cam i can see my 3 dots movement ok.
but I dont have skull picture in the left box. In model I dont have the 3 dots lite up.
Another thing when i startup freetrack my color goes nuts and i have to change the color depth back to 32 bit.
One good thing FSX works good, better than it ever did before.
Well maybe you can help me get it going again.
Thanks, Earl

Hi eclaney,

your first problem "can't change rgb 24".I think something went wrong installing the webcam drivers.
I should do this if I had your problem.
Disable UAC (User Account Control)

Disconnect your webcam,Uninstall your webcam drivers/software.Download the good version from the Microsoft website.

DON'T CONNECT YOUR WEBCAM YET!!Install the software/drivers for your webcam, connect the webcam when you get promped to do so.

Second problem: "Another thing when i startup freetrack my color goes nuts and i have to change the color depth back to 32 bit"

I use always true colors,32 bit colordepth.I think that is the normal setting.

Did you check if you have the latest drivers for you graphiccard?
Well try to install your webcam again and let me know if it worked. If freetrack recognices your webcam, your rgb24 and skullproblem will be hopely solved. If not, let me know I will try to help you.

Hello, I got the stream setup ok, 1420 and 640x480. camera set ok.
I can see my cap lights ok in the right side black frame, camera working ok.
But on the left side picture of the skull not there. And in the Model , I click on #3 but the three lights at the bottom right corner does not light up.

Whin I first click on Free-track to start the program my picture color goes crazy
to 8 bit. So I have to chang it back to 32 bit to get my picture back ok.
I have tryed to fix that but cant. So thats where I am now.
Earl.

Hi eclaney,
It is a weird problem.I think your webcam is installed good, probably your graphiccard drivers are up to date.On your old pc you didn't had this problem????
It could be a problem with directx. With win7 you get directx11 and for freetrack you need directx9.
So go to the website of microsoft, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
download and install directx9.If is already on your system you get a message that you dont need it.
You can also try to run freetrack as administrator and in compatibily mode winxp(servicepack 3).
Right click on the freetrack icon, select properties, select compatibility and then enable winxp mode, run as administrator.
I hope this helps you.If it doesn't let me know.

Hello, I did what you told me to do and It's working. Changing dir x from 11 to 9 did not do any thing for it. I have worked all day adjusting every thing I could trying to smooth it out but no luck.
The new computer is AMD running at 4.2 GHz. Memory 16 gig DDR 3. Graphics card is GeForce GT 430 1 GB DDR3 mem.
It runs FSX real nice. Better than any other rig I've had. I just wish that I could get freetrack to work good with it. Can you think of anything I could do to smooth it out? Thanks for your help.

Hi eclaney,
What solution did solve your problem (color going crazy, no skull)? This can help other people with the same problems.

Smoothing things out:
make sure you got your model dimensions filled in right.Keep the bulbs green en not to much jitter.
If that all is good read this post.Steph explains some settings here in freetrack.I think it will help you making everyting more smooth.
http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=3565

If you change the settings you can save your new profile and give it a name.Don't forget to minmize freetrack when you start to fly( tracking should be better)

I will work on it some more, Thanks again.  Earl
