Hi Stormrider
I just thought I should make it clear the camera goes on to work OK in Free Track but every time I pause and restart I get that message again. If I fly my sim , BMS Falcon, and turn tracking on and off a few times during flight I end up with messages stacked up. Its very annoying. I think Free track is a superb program, much better than the TrackIR that I used to use and of course much cheaper. if I can cure this problem I will be over the moon. Thanks weepop |

Hi weepop,
If I had your problem,I will tell which steps I would take to try to solve it. 1) turnoff uac(User Account Control), create a backup or restore point(very important incase of something going realy wrong). 2) download revo uninstaller(freeversion) and install. 3)use revo uninstall to do a complete removal of freetrack. 4)uninstall your webcam, uninstall software which game with you webcam with revo uninstaller. 5)let your pc restart, scan you registry with, for example ccleaner(also freeversion) Now your pc can do a clean install of freetrack and your webcam. If you want to do it realy thorough, uninstall your game also with revo uninstaller in step 3. Keep uac turned of, don't connect yor webcam yet The next part I copied from the site www.a4tech.com Instruction on How to download and install the driver properly : 1 ) Press Download button to download the desired driver . 2 ) Save it somewhere where you will remember after download . We recommend that you save it on your desktop , so it will be easy to find . 3 ) After successfully downloading the driver , do not open the driver file until you make sure the following has completed : ***REMOVE / UNINSTALL any original webcam driver from the PC . ( If you forgot to do this part , your driver may not be able to install correctly and successfully later ) 4 ) After the original webcam driver has been removed , open the downloaded file . 5 ) Follow the on-screen instructions . 6 ) When it's successfully installed , please restart your computer . 7 ) After you have restarted the computer , plug the webcam into your computer and it will automatically recognize the new hardware. 8)Install freetrack with admin rights, after install you can also make it start with admin rights(I always do it) 9) check in devicemanager if your usb-port of you webcam will not be turned-off to save energie or something else. I use revo uninstaller because it realy removes software just like it has never been installed before. With normal uninstall some parts stays in the registry and the problem stays. I turn of uac because sometimes you won't see messages during install(example is this problem: http://www.free-track.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3538&page=2#18207) If you connect your webcan before installing the webcam driver/software, windows will look for a driver and install that one. Turn uac on or leave it off, you must decide yourselve. I hope this will work for you. Let me know if your problem is solved or persists or if you have any questions. greetz Stormrider |
