Love euro truck simulator 2 and hope to god free track works on it. if it does can somebody help me on how to get it working please

Hi,
I think you have a good chance that freetrack works with Eurotruck sim 2.I found on this forum some thread about Eurotruck 1 working with freetrack.

Do you have a webcam?
Did you read the part on the freetrack homepage about the hardware you need?On the homepage there is a lot of information about what you need and how it works.
I think a lot of question you have will be answered there.
If you have any questions afther reading the freetrack homepage, just ask.

Yes ETS2 works with free track. Currently using a 1 dot solution with mouse emulation. Takes a bit of getting used to.  But great fun!!!!

Hi deadman WNC,
first we have to find where the problem is. Settings in eurotruck or in freetrack.
Correct me if Iam wrong, freetrack with mouse emulations works in Eurotruck.
So if freetrack can act as your mouse there is some setting in freetrack not right.Look in the output tab , have you enabled or disabled  mouse?
I think it must be disabled.If the view inEurotruck now works  with your normal mouse, you must look for something in Eurotruck to enable trackir.Sometime you have to change something in the config.ini.

do you use the freetrial or did you buy the game?With ms flight freetrack doesn't work with the free version.

Hi Deadman WNC,

I tried Eurotruck myself in demomode and it worked with freetrack.
I had freetrack already running an  then started Eurotruck.Eurotrack prompted me that he found  irtracking softwar and asked for the namen.After that I could drive and look around with freetrack.
I think your sollution is a COMPLETE removal of eurotruck and do a new install.I had Freetrack running during installation of eurotruck.
Just give it a try

Thanks for the advise, I will try a fresh install of ETS2....

Are you using 1 or 3 point solution? I only have a 1 at the moment, but going to build a 3 clip or cap...

One other problem I have with ETS2, the amount of movement i get is not very good. I can only just turn in game head less than 180Deg, so I cant look out the window and look backwards, maybe the LEDs i'm using are not good, only 25deg, going to get sfh485p with 80deg for next build, hope this is better.

Was are the differences between a 3 point cap and 3 point clip? Apart from one goes on a hat and one goes on headphones?

I uninstalled ETS2, started Freetrack, installed ETS2. Tried ETS in demo and full version. Still only works with mouse emulation, is it because i only have 1 LED?

Hi Deadman WNC,
First of all, what do we know now?
On my pc Eurotruck demo works with Freetrack with one led and with three leds.This means that with a fresh install Eurotruck uses Freetrack for looking around.The only thing, I can't zoom in (yet, maybe some setting I must change)
I don't have to use mouse emulation.
So, your pc.
In Eurotruck you can look around with your mouse.With your real mouse or with freetrack acting as a mouse.
When you reinstalled Eurotruck did you also get a question about the name of you irtracking software?
Look in the "output" tab
Did you enable 1) freetrack interface
                        2)Track ir interface
                        3)leave mouse disabled
In my case if I enable mouse emulation I steer by moving my head.Keep in mind it works on my pc so it can also work with yours.It take just same time to make it work.For now just use your one led set up.When we've got it working then make a three led cap or clip.
But first we make it work.

My setup.....
Quad core PC, 8GB memory, Windows 7 64bit
Microsoft vx-3000 webcam with 3 layers of film negative over front.
Single LED, 1.5v battery.

Eurotruck Sim2 is the full retail version with latest patch 1.3.1 installed.

When I re-installed ETS2 last night i was NOT asked a question about irtracking  :(, but I did have Free track running, and the light was green to say that Free track could see my LED and was working.

When I uninstalled ETS2, I used control panel remove program, then deleted all references on C:\ drive and deleted all references in the registry!

With free track turned off, in ETS2 I drive with a steering wheel and look with my mouse.

In Free track, output options, I turn ON mouse emulation, then in ETS2, i drive with steering wheel and can look with both mouse or head movements.

In Free track, output options, I turn OFF mouse emulation, and turn ON  IRTrack interface; then in ETS2, i drive with steering wheel and can look only with mouse.

I looked for config.ini, I can see one in mydocs/ets2/config.ini, there is a line that says IrTrack = 0, tonight I will try changing to 1 (What value do you have there?)

There is another config.ini file in the mydocs/ets2/Profile/ab12ab12ab/config.ini but there is no mention of anything to do with irtracking.

I don't understand why you were asked about head tracking when you installed ETS2??? It sounds like that is the issue.

Hopefully if I change the value in the config file it might work.

Hi,
in my config.ini the is a line:   uset g_trackir "1"
So it must be  1 instead of 0 to enable ir-tracking.
You don't have to change anything in ...mydocs/ets2/Profile/ab12ab12ab/config.ini.

English is not my native language, somethings are difficult to explain in my own language(= dutch)
