Hm, and 2.1 works well?
This is what happens to me bevor I changed my hardware. I couldn't run 2.2 either. Never found out why. But 2.1 works well too. |

I have exact the same problem. And the windows above apears before install. I tell a littlebit the story. It tell the three steps what I did and what happens.
1. I click on the downloaded “FreeRrack_V2.2” file for install the program. The Welcome to the “FreeTrack v2.2.0.279 Install program” windows appears. But, I must do something else and after (I think) ten seconds I heart a piep. I click directly on “Exit” (so I do not install) and there was the window with the messege (see head of this topic) with "Application error" and the same text. So, this messege appears before install! and opend directly after clicking on the install icon. (Only a vew seconds later) 2. But now I install the program. I Install FreeTrack (clicking the buttons) and after a vew seconds a window From FreeTrack tells me “FreeTrack v2.2.0.279 has been successfully installed”. So I click on the buttons “Next>” and then “Exit”. FreeTrack closed. But windows 7 64Bit opens an window who tells me that “the program possibility is not correct installed”. I can click on “re-install” or “The program is correct installed”. 3. When I start FreeTrack an other window opens like the same as in the head of this topic. But with the following text: Instead of “Application Error” (in the grey) it write “FreeTrack”. The messege is: “Access violation at address 00402278 in module ‘FreeTrack.exe’. Write of address 4029B30D”. My computer specifications are: I7, 64bit, 6GB, NVIDIA geforce GT 550M 2GB, W7. I have also installed the programm on a Windows Vista 32bits computer and on this computer it is working verry, verry great Maybe this long question with a lot of information will tell somebody what the solution of this problem is.

Hello again. Here i can give some more possible options:
1) Is your Windows 7 FULLY operational or it is a limited edition ? Are you the Administrator or you are a limited User? Have you checked windows UAC ? 2) Have you got any other similar issues with other programs that controls camera/printer/scanner? If you plug-in a USB camera/photo machine, is everything works ok? Have you done a virus-check? 3) I can imagine a memory problem. (Type of Memory mapping registers). If in the other systems of yours (that 2.2 runs) your memory is fewer than 6GB, i suggest you to seek the Allocator utility that can lower your memory (virtually with no issues), or if you can find one that suits to your specifications.

If all this still doesn't work, try "disable visual themes" in the compatibility tab of the FreeTrack properties. I had some limited succes with that.

Hello ADHS and Blindasabat,
1. Yes, W7 is FULLY operational. Yes, In the compatibilitymode, the program is Administrator. I have found that W. UAC in msconfig? I can (dis)able it. But how can I see in witch mode it is or, so you ask, checke it? 2. No, everything is works fine without any problems. Also the USB Webcam. I used the newest ESET NOD32 anti-virus. 3. I do that but lower the memory means that the computer will not use more than that? Also for the other programs like FS or ROF? I also disable visual themes. Here I ask the question also and have some suggestions for the solution. So, if you read this maybe somebody have another idée. http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=353&t=24588 Thank your both for advice. I try later and tell what happens.

a) Not run as, but if you are logged as the Administrator [not user].
b) The UAC is in your control panel and it is responsible which program will or not run at all. By default is on and prevents whatever it things bad for running. Search for it in Windows help, but be aware if you are gonna change anything for testing do it offline. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well my friend, sadly i think only a technician could give you a true and a more specific - accurate solution to your issue. If indeed there is a specific problem only on your hardware-software that is unique [not common], and the programmers don't or they can't know, then this may be never fixed. What i would do if i were you: As you insist to find out whats wrong, borrow an original vanilla version of the same Windows version that you are using right now. Install and check if this happens also. This, will cost you a few hours but after this you will have something more accurate to compare with for sure. If your Windows is one of the customized STREAMING versions that exists around, then maybe something important may have been abstracted. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please, allow me to give you a description that years now saved me a lot of trouble and compatibility problems with software of any kind. I use 2 boot partitions, in the same PC. Smaller partitions [30 GB each] are more accurate instead of a huge 1TerraBytes space, the rest is a partitioned plenty of storage space, windows re-installations are more quicker, it is more safer because while only one has access to internet, the other partitions are off. 1) Partition 1. System: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Usage: offline, Local LAN: For 3D, Post Production, Visual Effects, Graphics, Programming. 2) Partition 2. System: Windows XP Pro x64 Usage: online, Internet: Just for Games, FreeTrack, internet access. The XP Compatibility is the best for me till now. Never had issues. By this i can have compatibility with new-old games [Comanche Gold] and programs such the old creation tools for Open Falcon. FreeTrack is working on XP partition [as my games are in there] but i haven't reason to test it in Win7. Both systems are 64bit, i have a good performance within the games [BMS 4.32, DCS KA-50, FC2] that i use FreeTrack with no problems at all. NVidia GeForce GT 220, Dual Core Intel 2,7, 2 GB memory. ESET Smart Security.
