When starting Free Trak I get a message: Access violation at address in module 004AD288 exe free track. Read of address 00000035. What is at stake and how to solve the problem?

Hi,
Read this topic: http://forum.free-track.net/index.php?showtopic=1594 And if it doesn't solve it let's hope for a new version of FreeTrack.

Blindasabat,
I failed, but thanks to the support and interest, I looked at a lot of posts but nothing, I return to the FT on 2.1.2 works fine. |

I had the exact same issue & Error code.
I fixed the issue by renaming the Profiles folder to Profiles_old... Freetrack then created a new profiles folder and worked well (But I lost my profiles, which is not so big problem:) I know this is an old thread but it may be useful to someone like me P.S. In my case i think the root cause of the issue was the following: I configured the Reset to Center to be assigned to one of my joysticks buttons... and when I disconnected the joystick and tried to start the program it failed with this error. I plugged in the joystick and it ran fine, but renaming the Profiles folder so the program can create a default profile... did the trick, too

Thanks Klez, that fixed it for me to.
The actual cause was that i had mapped the center button to one on my joystick. After unplugging this joystick, freetrack started giving off this error code. Resetting my profile fixed this (ofcourse plugging the controller back in also fixed it) |

Hi everybody,
I had the same problem, but I found it usefull that I could center freetrack with my joystick.I asigned a key on my keyboard to center freetrack and asigned a key of my joystick to the same keys on my keyboard for center freetrack. Now I can center freetrack with my joystick without the chance of errors if my joystick isn't plugged in. greetz Stormrider

What I have done with great success is by using a Game Controller/Joystick/Steering Wheel/HOTAS with a button for FreeTrack Smoothing and a shifted function of that same button for Tracker Centering.
I have found that the smoothing function is much more important for a button's default state and centering as a secondary state. I have a Logitech F710 wireless controller and Steel Series SRW-S1 wheel that I have used with PGP software to get from very simple key commands to complex commands. I highly recommend it for keyboard intensive commands like ARMA, BF and others. With 16 buttons on a typical controller, using PGP you can get one default mode and up to 4 shifted modes giving you about 80 key commands. Possibly more if using compound commands. On my controller I have it programmed so the "Back" button is used for Freetrack smoothing, center, and pause. |
