I am using a three point clip model with a Wii remote and bluesoleil 6.245 on XP. It gets funny because all I see on the screen are the 3 spots from the IR LED's. But Free track does not see it that way because I only get 4 green lights if I choose the 4 point model and I get 4 red lights if I choose any of the other models. I don't understand because I used this setup for a long time and now all of the sudden it doesn't work!? has anyone had this problem before? is it a directx problem? Please I need help I have already gone as far as reformatting my computer (Twice!).

it sounds like its got to be a hardware issue though if you've reinstalled your OS and all your software twice and you've had this setup working before. the batteries are ok in the wii-mote? could you try using a different wii-mote? what happens when you cover one of the LEDs on your clip with your finger or hand? do ya get 3 greens (when you've got the 3-point clip model chosen of course)?

I have used other wii remotes and now oddly enough the one that my dog bit the front cover off works fine. but this is the remote that the trouble started with. Now I am all confused ha ha. it works for now but I don't have the wide rang of motion that I use to and everything is acting very finicky.

Your problem is very vague. Please submit that you've tried adjusting thresholds and other possible troubleshooting that you've attempted.
1) Covering an LED with a finger and testing pick up points 2) Removing and reinstalling fresh free-track setup 3) Verified that your measurements on your clip system are entered correctly 4) Moved the "threshold" slider until you get a stable 3 point pickup 5) Verified that you do not have any reflective material in the viewing area of the camera that may be reflecting the LED or any UV light. 6) Modifying your Camera's video format to a 1420 compression to help mitigate any unwanted color combination's 7) Modifying your camera's video source device settings to create optimal settings for the LED reception through the receiver. Furthermore, reinstalling an OS is never a solution, unless you have an Operating system problem. None of the 3rd party software that you use for this or anything related to it will EVER cause an OS problem. The last thing, is don't assume that it's a hardware issue, when it could very well be a software problem. Besides, you have no information that would lead you in that direction, other than he reinstalled an entire operating system and still had a problem. |

Sorry about the vague descriptions. I had no idea why I was having this problem because I have been using my set up with IL2 without changing any settings for a long time.
I have however narrowed down my problem. Recently I have been using FSX and as you all know you have to change your output setting by going to the output tab uncheck Freetrack interface and trackir interface and check the box simconnect - Flight simulator X This is where my my problem begins. Free track works fine when I use normal settings, when I checking simconnect freetrack disconnects my wii remote much like I have dead batteries in my wii remote. What is interesting is I had it working in FSX before after changing my output to simconnect. sometimes it would work with FSX sometime not, if not I would close both freetrack and FSX then try again, this usually worked. then out of the blue I started experiencing the problem I have been describing again (no change in setting or hardware) so this time I unchecked simconnect and freetrack works again. I tried checking simconnect and freetrack drops the wii. I did not change anything for this to happen other than restarting my computer. Now when I try and start freetrack with the simconnect box checked I have various outcomes. sometimes I can see the three LEDs but the 3D head does not move but mostly, freetrack drops the wii controller and the wii controller starts beeping. I am using a Mac Book pro with xp via boot camp. my version of bluesoleil is 6.4.245. I am running directx 10 via "DirectX 10 RC2 Pre Fix 3".
