Hello!
I have got a setup FreeTrack 2.2 used in Il2:1946 game. Everything is working just fine until I have installed the latest nVidia graphical drivers 180.48 or 181.20 for a card nVidia 9800GT.
Everything is working correctly until I go from a game to desktop and click FT. When a skull is shown, and I come back to Il2 again, in-game FPS rate drops dramatically to 0-6 FPS.
Test case:
1.Run FT2.2. Do not Start tracking
2. Run IL2, start quick mission
3. Show in-game FPS, see value (about 75 for me), pause game
4. Go to desktop
5. Click FT icon, start tracking, center view
6. Go to IL2 again
In that case I can see a FPS drop from 75 to 0-6... Pity. With drivers 178.24 there is no problem at all.
In my opinion it is a problem of a FT graphics usage (skull in DirectX?) when a background OpenGL application runs.
See also that when you leave non-minimized FT application with skull shown (working) and you jump to IL2 you will notice some strange artifacts in the game, caused by FT graphics.
For me the best (easiest) workaround is an option to disable FT graph completely. Now we can remove many items like axis, ray etc. but we cannot disable graph (skull) completely.

Hello again!
I have tested the newer nVidia drivers v182.08 from 2009/03/03 and they are similarly faulty like previous ones. The only difference is that instead of a FPS range 0-6, I have got 10 FPS more The test case the same as before.

I have tried nVidia drivers 182.08 and then this 182.50 you mentioned. The same results...
But then yesterday I switched to the latest drivers 185.85 WHQL. And it solves the problem! And I moved from 178.xx to 185.xx version! I recommend these drivers, at least till I do not find the another problem :-)
