Hi,
yesterday I downloaded version 2.2 but when I tried to run it I got this error "The application has failed to start because D3dx9_33.dll was not found.Re-installing the application may fix this problem." D3dx9_33.dll is in fact in the Free-track folder.I did try re-installing but with the same result. Please advise TIA Alan |

Hi Alan,
I´ve copied the file in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. Than it works. Or try do download the newest DirectX 9c version. Link is in the explanation at the download page under free-track.net /eisenfpferd/ |

First :
What is your OS ? Try to install lasted directX 9.0c version (it's very important, it must solved your D3Dx9_33.dll problem ...) (on Windows XP or Windows Vista too ...) Try to have lasted webcam driver ! if you used windows Vista, FreeTrack.exe must be run in administrator right... try to delete freetrack.ini file ... You must disable any application that can use Webcam when you use freetrack ... (example : MSN Live messenger ....)

I've been getting access violation errors on startup in every revision of v2.2 on Vista 64. I don't believe it is OS specific because others such as yourself are getting it in XP.
Assuming it's the same problem as I have, I don't think it's webcam related since the same thing happens even with the webcam fully uninstalled, unplugged, etc. I've tried a multitude of other things to fix this (see my own post on the topic), all to no effect. Personally I've given up on 2.2 and reverted to 2.1 which works fine. At least people are getting a bit more vocal about this, hopefully there's a fix soon. As always if a dev reads this I'd be glad to help provide whatever info might be helpful about my config etc to get this fixed in a future update. |

Hi,
yes I read your post and it bears identical problems to mine,I have also tried everything suggested to no avail,so I think I too will call it quits for now and carry on with version 2.1 Happy Xmas to all..............Alan |

Yeah I think that's the best solution for now. If you do find a fix be sure to let us know though!
Cheers, Toby |

I have this too... and one of cpu core have 100% usage. amd 6000+, 2Gb ram, 8800GTS, Vista 32, labtec camera, on any GPU or camera drivers. |

Good idea about the GPU drivers, I hadn't thought of that. Sucks it didn't work though.
Still, I wonder if it is a GPU related issue? I've got an 8800GTS as well. Mine is the G80 based 640mb version. Wonder what GPU alcav55 is using. The rest of my system is different to yours so I think we can exclude everything else from consideration if it is a hardware issue. |

8800GTS 512Mb
if I find some old hard drive, I'll make a clean install of windows to be shoure is it hardware or software problem. |

Hmm. The 320/640 and 512mb versions use different chips so I guess that undermines that theory.
Yes that'd be interesting to see if a new Windows install fixes it. Let us know how it goes if you try it! The thing I find interesting is that it seems to occur on both 32bit and 64bit Vista and also XP. Makes me think it probably isn't drivers since they're different on each OS. I'm still hoping it will be fixed in a patch. |

Hi,
i had many problems too (see my posts) 1. FT2.2 does not run when 2 monitors are active. 2. on my system I have to start ste systems in following row: -start fs9 and start a flight (window mode) -start FT 2.2 (with no connection to tirviews) -start button in FT -activate tirviews support (perhaps after testing the movement with fsuipc-support) -FS9 fullscreen-mode Than it works on my system. winxp, newest directx,fs9,nvidia6600 /Hendrik/ |
