Hello Arkbargle
from what I saw , the leds :
- are 940nm models, some webcams will have to be IR modded to work with these leds
- have a dome case , which means they're narrow beam leds.
They can be used with freetrack if :
- you IR mod your webcam
- you sand the led cases flat to widen their beam
About the other refs :
- NTE 3017 / NTE3027
950nm plastic 5mm case 22° half angle. You'll have to sand this one if you choose it.
- NTE3028 :
940nm, no beam angle info given and a TO18 case (metal case). So better avoid this one.
Things to remember :
If you want to keep your webcam unmodified, better search for a 880nm IR led. Some webcams simply can't view 940-950nm IR leds unless they're IR modded
If your webcam is IR modded , you can use whatever IR led you find, everything will work.
My suggestion :
if you can't order SFH485P's then go for radioshack's IR leds, they're cheap and already reported to work (item# 276-143) rather than the IR led and phototransistor pack, or use NTE3027.

I'll have to check the store to see if they have the 276-143 as it's not listed on the site; this isn't Radioshack that I'd be shopping at, it's "The Source", a Canadian store that was formerly known as Radioshack before they lost the rights to the name. Otherwise I'll head up to the other store and buy the NTE3027s.
I can order the other ones if need be, I just haven't the desire to if I can find suitable parts locally.
